The picture below is my 7 year old daughter, Kacie.
Kacie sees me looking at coins from time to time. Her curiosity was piqued recently when I was looking at the most recent ATB Quarters. I showed her the Arches quarter and told her how fascinated I am with the artistic design of ATB Quarters. She was enthralled with them. Every night for a week she sat with me and looked through pocket change for ATB Quarters. She was coming to me daily asking when we could "look for quarters again".
Yesterday I took her to the LCS and bought her very own Dansco Statehood Quarter album and an ATB album. We spent most of the day yesterday searching through pocket change for Statehood Quarters and putting them in her Dansco Album. I explained the difference in the mint marks and told her we would have a challenge finding the Denver Mint coins. She suggested we ask her uncle, who lives in California, to help her complete her album. My brother has been collecting coins for nearly 35 years. He was almost as thrilled as me to see her excitement for coin collecting.
I hope she remains excited about coin collecting and we share this passion for many years. It beats having to feign excitement about My Little Pony and Shopkins!

You`ve planted a seed! One of my favorite parts of this hobby is passing it on to the younger generation, in hopes that they will one day think back and remember the person that first showed them some interesting coins, and continue collecting however they choose. Good for you!!

Looks like she's really eating it up

My 6 year old son naturally became interested in the Statehood Quarters. I think the designs on the reverse was a great idea to get kids interested. We practically filled the State Quarter map in one day, and are working on the parks map now.
