Hi everyone, I rarely venture to this part of the forum but found a couple of apparently ancient coins in a recent collection... Completely ignorant in regards to ancients... Authentic? Country? Value? Thanks!

Two nice ancient Roman coins that Phish has already IDed. The Maximian is worth more than the Licinius ased on condition, even with the chip a $10-$15 coin. The other $3-$4.

The Ioviani and Herculiani were the personal legions of the two co-emperors Diocletian and Maximianus.
Diocletian had seen first hand the trouble caused by the Praetorian Gaurds and had no desire to repeat the mistakes of his predecessors. Two fiercely loyal "Illyrian legions" were the personal body guards for the two Illyrian emperors.

The reason behind the IOV ET HERCV reverse type was that Diocletian took the title IOVIVS and Maximianus took the name HERCVLIVS to show their close relationship/kinship with their respective god.
