This is my collection of sample slabs from PCGS, NGC, ANACS, and ICG that I have gotten from attending various coin shows. I was wondering if they have any value. on ebay, they tend to sell between $5-15 each. I will include pictures of what I have.

Also, would these sample slabs be something you would want to buy if I put them on the CCF auction block. If not, then I will probably keep them or sell them on ebay.

These are recent and fairly common. They do have some value though, The $5 -$10 range is probably about what they would bring if they sell.

Some of the older sample slabs do pretty well on ebay, not sure about the newer ones.

The population of sample slab collectors is small, but yes there are some of us out there. Also what we collect varies, for example my personal rule is it must say SAMPLE on it somewhere, otherwise I classify it as a promotional item and I'm not interested. So the Missouri Treasure Trivial would be in, but the Alabama out. For me. I also refuse to chase all the modern promotional labels.

Thank you. I take great pride in being weird.

1. Normal people are boring
2. If you have money, you are eccentric and socially acceptable. Middle class and below are just weird.

There is a market for these- well, maybe that's stretching things. There are buyers for these. I sold two rare PCGS sample slabs (1 of 5 known of each one) for $350 each to a specialized collector. Typically, the slabs that have the most value to specialists- are ones that are previously unknown- or known but very rare.

A sample Regency holder, for instance, I imagine, would bring a fair amount of money.

Yes it would. I've heard a rumor of one but it was never confirmed.

Got one on ebay a while back for around $5 just to say I have one. It's a sample slab for their new (at the time) secure slab.

Not something I'm really actively looking for, but I've seen people battle for them on ebay.
