My grandmother recently found out I've been collecting coins for the past year and gave me some of the coins in her collection. 1971-S "brown" Ike proof still in the box. This is my first proof coin so I I'm extremely happy she gave me this. A full let of uncirculated State Quarters In both business strikes as well as proofs. A full set of uncirculated Presidential dollars as well as a book to put them in. Also 10 gold plated with almost silver holographic reverses State Quarters. 2000 $20 republic of Liberia US Declaration of Independence silver proof coin. 20 grams of .999 silver. She has a few more things that she says she's keeping for now but she will give me another time because they were my grandfathers 4 favorite coins. 1879 S Morgan 1885 Morgan 1918 and 1940 Walking Liberty halves. She also has some other things but there in one of her storage sheds. Edited by Avshater22 08/28/2014 2:29 pm

That's really neat. She's probably happy to pass the hobby on to the next generation and you get some cool coins that will always remind you of her.

Thats great. I'm sure they mean the world to you. Tell grandma shes awesome. One suggestion is talk with your grandparents about their collection. Ask for stories (if any) are behind the coins. They will have so much more "value" to you. And cherish those conversations because there will come a time you wont have that opportunity and you may regret it
