Help-Required-With-?roman-Coin

Any help identifying this coin would be much appreciated.

We think it is Roman but many hours or searching hasn't turned anything up.

Thanks in advance.

Because of the condition it's a bit difficult to say for sure who it is, but I believe it's the Roman emperor Diocletian 284-305 AD.
The reverse depicts Carthage facing left holding fruit in each hand.

I'm going to move this thread over to the Ancient coin section for more help.

The reverse is a popular one reading:

SALVIS AVGG ET CAESS FEL KART - this basically means: If the rulers of the empire are healthy, then the people of Karthage are happy. It shows Carthage (a personification of the city). Perhaps they issued it to try and stop Rome from levelling their city, like they did at the conclusion of the Punic wars.

This type references the victory of Maximianus over the Quinquegentiani (a rebellious tribe in North Africa) and his triumph and actual presence in Carthage.

The coin is of Maximinus II issued as Caesar under the senior tetrarch Galerius.
The letter I in reverse field indicates his place as a "Jovian" alongside Galerius.
GAL VAL MAXIMINVS NOB CAES
Carthage AD 305-6
Ref Sear 14763
RIC vi, p. 428

Issues of Maximinus II from western mints are nice as he was an 'eastern' emperor who issued primarily from Alexandria in Egypt. I recently picked one up from the London mint. The period of peace and harmony between the emperors was brief. Once they resumed normal 'frosty' relations they ceased issuing coinage on each other's behalf and commenced with active attempts to 'deify' each other.
