I know there is a D/S...and I'm pretty certain it's NOT the same coin but the portion under the D is very similar.

Here is a coin, same year that is a D/S...it DOES NOT appear to be the same coin by the looks of the D but the S under is similar.

Green thorn cleaning, new images:
It looks like the bottom of an S to me. In fact looking at the top serif of the D it could be a D/D/S...opinion?

Just a D/S. No extra "D". Let it soak for a while in mineral oil and see if the gunk comes off a little more/soften it. Be careful with removing the grime. It might have send in it and can scratch the fields.
