Looks like a contact mark. Note how it reduces the width of the upright?

Yeah I see that, it's very narrow. How would that happen? There is a tilted orientation too?

Probably circulation damage.

There is a RPM they call tilted. But they are referring to the serifs, not the upright of the mint mark. Beside the 8 directions, there are 4 more that are considered on RPMs.
