I just got this 1872 Indian Head cent and I am trying to figure out if it is the Bold or Shallow N variety.

The N does look Bold, but the E does not look right for the Bold N.

I am looking for some help as I am not an expert, this is just a hobby of mine that I picked up from my Dad.

Thanks for your help!

Thanks. I thought the "E" looked more like a Shallow N "E". But, hard to tell.

I agree. No doubt about it. Bold N is ten times more common than shallow N for 1872
