I'm not much for 2 Cents and this is my only MS Example to date but I saw it ending on ebay and thought I'd put a bid in. The color is really nice too. I believe the Fancy 5 is the more desirable variety correct?

Not many auction records are available for certified 1865's. I paid $110.5; how'd I do?

As far as the fancy 5/plain 5, I think mintages were pretty close. Most people that collect the series will collect one of each. I would say the price is pretty fair.

Maybe not a "killer" but still below market and I'd buy 'em all at that price.

Yes, you got a nice deal. Bought one raw on ebay last year for around $130, looked VERY nice, sent to PCGS expecting MS64RB or better... got UNC Details, Questionable Color. Not a happy camper. The coin has VERY sharp details including the central ridge on the arrowheads and the middle rib on all the leaves. No hairlines from cleaning. A bit of toning maybe, but it was NOT cleaned. Last coin I will ever submit to the TPGs.

Actually, looking at yours again, mine has similar hues of color like those toward the top of your coin, though they are more toward the right side of the obverse on mine.

Thanks for the opinions. I could have gotten a higher grade and I would've liked to have had atleast a MS-63RB but the color on this one is just so irresistible
I've never had toned Copper before.
