Hi all,

I just picked up what I think is a nice 1970 500 lire. Many are very marked up and this one has a lot of contact free areas.

I bought it in the original sealed holder. I noticed that there was a little moisture inside the holder but there was no PVC that I could see on the coin.

I got it home, cut the holder open, and the moisture seemed to make the coin just a bit sticky. Again. There is no PVC that I can see, but I'm wondering if it is, all the same, PVC that maybe hasn't yet turned the coin green? If not, what would be moisture in a holder that would leave the coin slightly sticky?

Thanks, once again, for the shared knowledge on this forum
