The left image looks like there is a cross dissecting the coins in four parts. It is a western style coin in my opinion.
Is it meaningful to examine too much on this totally torn coin?

For it to be the Chinese flag, it wouldn't be that old, and this coin looks like it was made in a manner that would be older.

It's a coat of arms in the first pic. At the bottom we can see the harp of Ireland in the lower left quarter, first added to the royal arms of England in 1603. The upper left quarter of the arms is itself quartered, which narrows it to being the arms of the Stuart kings, or, later, Queen Anne.

There's really not much to go on Kommodore!

However, you might be right. The first image appears to show the quartered shield and harp that you find on coins of Charles I.

From the weight my guess is that it could be a heavily clipped halfcrown. The outer legends have been removed completely (to save the silver) leaving it not much bigger than a shilling.

The obverse (right hand image) shows the remains of an equestrian portrait of the king. A bit like this:

Charles-1st-Coin?

However what detail I can see seems very crude and the square topped shield doesn't look quite right. My guess is perhaps you have a contemporary (ie 17th century)counterfeit that was deliberately trimmed and defaced to enable it to pass as a coin. In which case the silver may well be debased too. I've seen such things before.

Interesting either way!
