I picked up an 1877 Indian Head penny that has a stain on it. It looks like a streak of black ink across the coin. What is the recommendation....have it professionally cleaned (if possible) or just live with it?
I'm going to post the exact same thing I posted, the last time you asked the same question about the same coin:
Quote: You're probably best off leaving it as-is. No way to tell what the color is from, or what the coin will look like underneath it - the mark might go away and leave a clean swath of coin, making it look obviously cleaned.
With that said, you'd added that question into a thread on a different topic so we'll leave this new thread intact because few saw you ask it the last time. Images would help.
