I picked up an 1877 Indian Head penny that has a stain on it. It looks like a streak of black ink across the coin. What is the recommendation....have it professionally cleaned (if possible) or just live with it?

I'm going to post the exact same thing I posted, the last time you asked the same question about the same coin:

Quote:
You're probably best off leaving it as-is. No way to tell what the color is from, or what the coin will look like underneath it - the mark might go away and leave a clean swath of coin, making it look obviously cleaned.

With that said, you'd added that question into a thread on a different topic so we'll leave this new thread intact because few saw you ask it the last time. Images would help.

Pics? I'd probably leave it alone unless you know exactly what you're doing....and it doesn't sound like it.
