My best were:
1. Solid roll of buffs saved for me by a bank teller
2. 5 solid rolls of someone's dumped nickel collection--all 1940-1954 and then some BU toned 1960s.
3. Back in 2009 my old work got a solid box of BU "formative" cents. I talked the old guy at the cash office into letting me buy every roll that had not already been broken into tills, and I was able to cherry pick an extra ~10 rolls' worth over the next month. I should have sold them back then--they were worth a heck of a lot more in 2009 than they are now.

214 Franklin halves in a $500 box. I also found a box with ~302 40% halves. I've had a couple really lucky finds and some really long skunk streaks. It's not normal for me to find "one silver per box" like most report. It happens but it's usually one extreme or the other for me. OO

Best box (596-90%ers and 4-40%ers back in 2009). Best individual find(1955 Doubled die with reverse damage) Owassoki, that box must have got your heart pumping.

I would hit the roof if I found a box with even a tenth as much silver as that! What do you do with the coins after you find them? ebay, or do they all go into a hoard?

I started a Walker set and a Franklin set. I sold the rest of the Franklins but kept the Walkers. I've since held onto all of the Franklins I now find and traded my 1964's with a guy for the ones I was missing and for some Barbers. I only need 1 more Barber half, 4 more Walkers, and 2 Franklins to finish my albums.

Quote: jack jeckel, that picture is just inspiring I have to keep reminding myself why I stay in the game after 28 straight skunk boxes and the next month 24 straight skunk boxes. You have to be in it to win it.

the first box of pennies I ever did produced 158 wheats if I recall correctly. Someone here told me as a noob to "mine the vein" I got 3 or 4 more boxes with the same # stamp on them, and ended up with almost 800 wheats. Its lost to lore because I was brand new and too excited to keep good stats. best nickel box had 7 War Nickels. best dime box had 12 rosies and 3 mercs. best half box (and I'm new to these though I've read every post in the halves thread) was 17 silvers, with 7 being 90%. edit* also the 1925 Peace dollar I got at the bank while dumping, from the tellers tray. Ive been hunting for over a year now, and I am glad to be hunting. Wish I hadnt stopped for so long, but better late than never.

36 Ikes I got last month at the bank, other people probably think my Morgans or Peaces I got from working a cash register, but I didn't get 36 of then so I stick with the Ikes being the best score since it was more coins.

I threw a perfect game in bowling a few years ago and got a 300! Oh, wait, you're asking about coins? Um, ....oops, ....never mind.

Mine can't really compare to most posted but I did find a cwr of nickels with 5 V nickels and 8 dated buffaloes. Also went to the bank and picked up 10 penny rolls, all cwr, and all were wheat cents, including a solid roll of steelies.
