I have been dedicated to collecting ancient (and medieval) coins for several years now. I just love it! So I'd like to share my passion for these in the form of a small giveaway. I have four ancient Roman coins to give out. They are pretty junky looking (I think most of us would be after 1700+ years  ) but they have decent detail and are identifiable. I want to give these to YNs that don't have any ancient coin yet and are willing to accept one into their collection. I'm not expecting any converts to the ancient dark side, but if donating these starts an interest in collecting ancients in someone, all the better! As I mentioned, I'd like to give these out to the first four YN's that post here (I'd also of course send it to an adult to give to a YN they know), without any ancients in their collection, that have at least 50 posts to their username, and live in USA/Canada. If some time has passed without any or all of the coins chosen, I'll open it to adult collectors as well that have at least 50 posts. -VK Edited by VisigothKing

I'm a teacher/coach and coin collector... This summer I hired two students and wrestlers that were on my team who had just graduated this past June. I was paying them $12/hr for general labour in hopes to build up their work ethic, skills and get a lot of work that I needed to get done in my yard and in my house.
I paid the kids in cash every week but I always took the time to pay them with some of the currency that I collected... (So I sometimes gave them older bills, nickel dollars, that sort of thing) At the end of the summer I gave each of them an 1896 Penny (100 years to their birthdate)
Anyways one of the students came back to visit me at the school all excited to show me some more coins and banknotes they have picked up... I think it's GREAT... I've got someone else interested in this fantastic hobby...
I don't know where his interests will take him.... but if I'm one of the winners I would like to give the coin to this guy and perhaps it will spark his interest in another area of coins...

I'm a young collector and have never gotten into Ancients but would probably love changing pace for a bit and learning a lot about this coin/the others from that period and the history...and I'm sure it'd beat my current oldest of 1857 :)
