Im pretty sure in the first pic I can see the SD very faint but there is definitely something there right at the base of the 5 where it is suppose to be. I would say its just a weak strike. ?.

Hi, can anyone confirm whether the 2103 5c no SD actually exists? I have noodled through 100's of 2013s to no avail.

... here is my 2005 5 cent "almost no SD" coin.
If you have a look at the collage below you cannot see the "SD" below the numeral 5.

However, with good lighting and with a strong hand loupe the "SD" is very vaguely visible.
The wear on the coin indicates that this would have been the state of the "SD" at the time of minting.

I think most "missing SD" 5c coins are probably just suffering from die fill.
life is a mystery to be lived not a problem to be solved

I agree with Nevol - As with the 2c missing SD the 5c missing SD are caused by die fills

They are very hard to find now and very annoying to look for, they are basically a die/grease fill. I found a 2001 flamingo and actual offstrike/ramstriked 5 cent and have yet to find a missing SD.
