I posted it in the VAM forum to find out if it is a VAM 2, but I would like some grades, too.

Obverse looks like an MS-62, Heavy bag marking but no visible wear that I can see.

I'll edit this when you get a reverse pic up

EDIT: The reverse looks pretty good, I think it could make a 63

Do you think you could post a picture of the reverse?
Based on the obverse it looks like it would grade around a MS-63 but it could change depending on the reverse.

I would have to go with a 62 obverse but cant say the whole coin without the reverse. Although, I don't like those streaks on the chin area. Maybe it's just part of the VAM (I dont know VAMs) but it might be cleaned/polished.

It is sealed in a GSA holder. It has not been cleaned. I saw lots of other GSA 1884 CC Morgans on ebay with streaks in the chin area. They show up clearly in the photo, but they are hard to detect without a loop.

The reverse is very nice. I would say 62 or 63. The streaks on the chin may be from when these were stored in the mint bags and rubbed up against each other.

Hey,
looks to be a 62/63. However I would be rather shocked to see it get any higher then a 61 based on the major rim dings at 10 and 2 o'clock
Rest in Peace

MS62 for sure with a very slight possibility at 63. I've seen similar examples graded 63. The straight lines on Liberty's cheek are planchet striations and the rim dings noted at 10 and 2 are actually features in the GSA insert.

As Dave noted, those are not "rim dings." They are from the GSA holder protruding over the coin. As far as I know, a coin that has never been in circulation cannot have rim dings.

Thanks everyone for all your grading input. Special thanks to dave700x for the info on planchet striations.
