I bought this 3 cent piece raw off of ebay a couple weeks ago. It appears that it had a relatively soft strike with the Roman numerals. What grade do you think it is? Thank you for looking!

Mid to high AU. Typical weakness in the III, especially for 1865 but very nice clash on the reverse. There is typical hair weakness in the curls but with what appears to be luster in one of your photos, I am very comfortable thinking this is at least a mid-AU 3CN .

I'll say at least AU-58 with a possibility of MS. The luster has the look of a MS coin and if there is any wear it is very slight.

I'm in agreement with D0ubl3Eagle looks very, very close to MS these are usually found with quite weak strikes, the luster looks pretty strong on this one, but would need to see in hand to confirm, very close if not MS60/61/62 range.

ICG didn't see any wear/loss of luster and graded this one MS61.
