1955 Dime Error Or Not? - Coin Community Forum

chalenn New Member United States 47 Posts	Posted 09/20/2014 4:39 pm Was sent the below photo of a dime, to me the obverse around the ear has problems in several places, a die break and in the lower area by the date a die clash? I don't thinks its Cud but I have been known to be wrong... TIA for all help given. Charles Report this Post to the Staff

Adam_E Pillar of the Community United States 4846 Posts	Posted 09/20/2014 5:19 pm Looks like there may be a die chip on there, the mark on the neck is PMD I think, overall nothing too interesting that would add value over melt, especially on a circulated common date. EDIT: By Cud I assumed you meant the chip on the cheek, Cud's are die breaks where part of the die completely fallt off of the die, which is only able to happen from the outside of the coin and extend inwards Edited by Adam_E 09/20/2014 7:12 pm Report this Post to the Staff
