Can you post an enlarged photo of the date?

Ok first the disclaimer. I know slightly more than nothing ok. My opinion has every chance of being completely wrong here. That said I'm thinking this one is real. The angle of the Reverse photo makes it hard but the markers I've been told to look for indicate to me that this one is legit. (Photos from directly above would help)

The coin looks OK to me but then again if I was going to buy one I wouldn't rely on my judgement

From the pictures I can't make out the base of the L in Australia. It should have a very distinct curve in it (look at photos of other 1930 pennies) Everything else seems to match up.

My comments are exactly those of Peter Thomas. I would NOT be inclined to buy a 1930 penny via ebay. There are a few good websites that may help you in the authentication of a 1930 penny for yourself. For example, search: 'authentication 1930 penny'. I suggest you check your coin with ALL of these websites. That won't cost you anything. The Royal Australian Mint (used to? / still does?) offer an authentication service for 1930 pennies. Don't kow what their fees for this service are. Ring them first. Take it to a VERY respected leading coin dealer, such as Downies, Noble Numismatics, or I.S. Wright. If genuine, they will most probably offer to auction it for you. That's business. At least, at the end of this process, you most probably will be satisfied to know if your coin is authentic or not. Take your time in doing so. Hasten slowly.

Cheers. Looks good to me. The soft strike on the top scroll and around bottom of the inner rings is consistent with other examples around.

Thanks and thanks. I have already sent it away to be graded so I am now glad that it should come back as genuine

To know if I paid a good price for it, what would the current sell value (not retail) be?

I'd only be speculating here. I'd probably grade that around fine, maybe a touch better. or VF30. Wear is even, rims are ok, just a slight bruise between OF AUS on reverse. I won't mention any values but the prices haven't been too strong lately.
Who did you send it to for slabbing ?
