@just carl You keep mentioning that it is hard to tell what a particular merchandise will be like. That is why I wrote this topic so I can see what experience other people have had.

I found out what the problem was. I got a new pack of staples and got a name brand. In times past I had been using staples that came with an old stapler. These new staples are sharper and go through with a lot less pressure. If anyone is curious on the details let me know.
