1997 Loonie And 2006 Loonie : Same Design

Are there any other coins where the mint used the same design years down the line? Report this Post to the Staff

The 1997 shows both legs and is supposed to represent the loon taking off. For 2006 they reversed it, lopped off one leg, and described it as loon landing or something along that line. The voyageur dollar reverse reappeared in 2003 after an absence since 1987. "Dipping" is not considered cleaning... -from PCGS website Report this Post to the Staff

I looked it up and it first appeared on the 1988 BU set, the first to include the loonie. '97 shows a running loon taking off with right foot trailing in running motion, 2006 both feet forward in stopping/skiing motion, slight difference. Same bird, different feet.
