Remember a wile ago when someone posted a Lucky Loonie that he found and described it as silver? Did someone from here win the bid and if so do we know what it is? Wrong plancet?

Back at the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics the dude overseeing the ice rink for hockey placed a loon dollar in the ice to mark where the reff should drop the puck. The dude who did it told the men and women's team and made them swear to keep it a secret. Both sexes went on to win gold.

Every winter game since a special loon is seen on our winter olympic time issued loon dollars as a good luck charm.

I think it is struck on a foreign or 50c planchet... I missed this auction, or I would have bid on it to a limit much higher than it sold for...

SPP, this might be a dumb question, but why would you bid on a coin which you know is not a realistic true mint error? OR, is it?
could it be?

That loon is either struck on a 50c or foreign planchet, without doubt, it was struck on a planchet that was undersized for the collar... intentional or not.

Realistic or not, I like stuff like that - I probably would write an article and publish it in the journal Errorscope...
