Hello All,

Ive got this coin in my collection and I have an feeling that it is an rare one. Just an feeling thats all. Maybe because I can't remember I've seen this particulair face on coins before.

I am probably very wrong and possible the most common coin there is haha.
Still I am wondering if someone can help me identify this one.

Ive try google but there are alot of INIUS coins.

If someone can give me an direction would be great. Emperor or mintmark on the backside between standing person....

Best wishes,
Vincent

I agree with Victor though he has missed the P F from the obverse legend.

It is RIC VI 310 and one of the most common in this series. I have owned several inclusing this one below for comparison:-

Yes, I copied and pasted from my website, which I even noticed had the P F missing!

thank you both! I see I am really awful with these coins haha. I've still dificulties with reading the lyrics though. Alot of letters look to odd for normal reading for me. It has some nice details on it. Not as nice as yours though

Let's give it an try. The mintmark is an P (so it should be LVG) the obverse looks like Magnus maximus.
So an AE2 of Magnus maximus mint Lyon. Is this correct ? :)

Juat so you know, your second coin is actually pretty close to being a "very rare Roman coin" (on the ERIC II rarity list, Magnus Maximus is number 82, and on Jango's list he's number 63).

Nice coin you have there. Alot better then mine. Another mint I see.
January1may, Thanks but I have now Idea what the differences is about the jango list and ERIC rarity list haha. And where you can see if they are rare or not. And what is the difference.
