I have had this one for some time now and finally got around to taking some photos. They were taken in natural light, so the hits may appear a bit worse than what they are. What do you guys think it grades? I am on the edge between F15 and VF20 for it. Is that a fair assessment? Thanks for looking and all feedback.

F-12/F-15 - too much loss on the total shield to place it into a VF designation IMO.
High date, closed "54" and I am not sure but do you have some date doubling on that "54" as well to the upper left side of the digits?

F15 it is then. I gave $20 for it, which I think was a fair price, but not a great buy.
dsfreeworld I do not see any doubling on the 54. I guess it was just a shadow from the lighting. What do you mean by closed 54? Is this date position a rarer one?

The date position is quite common on this issue. The difference between open and closed "54":

Thanks dsfreeworld, so it means they are touching. That makes sense. I kinda have the habit when it comes to coins and seeing closed as think that it was filled in, as in a die break/chip in the center of the 4 or 5 and I knew that wasn't the case. I like learning about different series, but it takes a lot of studying to learn different date characteristics, and seated series is not one I have got to learning yet. I really like the design of Seated coins though.

Its a great series of coins and I like the dimes in particular because they are not as expensive as their quarter/half/dollar counter-parts. You can still get later issue common dates in mid-level MS for the $200 range and if you want to spend $400 in some of those issues you can pick up anything from a blazing white MS64 to a colorfully toned MS63 in a righteous PCGS or NGC.

Nice example of the 'with arrows' type, low grade but still in very collectible condition. Nice add to your 7070!
