Hello all,

After some searching and comparing roman heads. I think I've got an postumus coin. But it is not an sestersius or As but probably an follis or something.

I only can't find an comparing piece to this one. I can't determine full the lyrics otherwise I could try google it.

Was wondering if someone can give me tips or an head start to figure this out..

Best regards,
Vincent

It looks very much like a Felicitas reverse, but could be Providentia as well.
Methinks the legend could read ...FELICI...

You could be right. I've checked to an similair felicitas coin and it looks indeed you can read. FELICITAS AVG but there are differences aswell in the standing person I see now.

Your coin is Valerian I. The obverse legend is IMP C P LIC VALERIANVS AVG and the reverse is FELICITAS AVGG

actually I am not completely sure of the obverse legend, it is very hard to make out, in hand you should have a better chance a deciphering it. Other possibilities include IMP VALERIANVS P F AVG, IMP VALERIANVS P AVG, IMP VALERIANVS AVG etc.

Methinks 'Victor' got it right. Was late last night so I didn't bother looking at the obverse and assumed 'vince1977' was right. The one thing which irked me a bit was the ending of the reverse inscription, as far as I can remember there are no 'AVGG' coins from Posthumus.
For the obverse inscription I would read it as being most likely IMP VALERIANVS ...
