Following the London bombing, an English Ambulance Service have launched an international "In Case of Emergency ( ICE ) campaign, as they have discovered that at almost every accident scene there is a working mobile/cell phone on the victim.

The idea is that you store the word " I C E " in your mobile/cell phone address book, and against it enter the number of the person you would want to be contacted "In Case of Emergency".

In an emergency situation ambulance. paramedic, police and/or hospital staff will then be able to quickly find out who your next of kin are and be able to contact them. It's so simple that everyone can do it.

It really could save your life, or put a loved one's mind at rest.

For more than one contact name ICE1, ICE2, ICE3 etc...

Good idea.
I'd also like to see some of our homeland security funds go into first aid, first responder, and basic life support training for folks interested. I know firsthand that it can save lives, and average folks can learn the basics in 1 half day. I'll be more than happy to get red cross info to any boardmembers inerested in taking classes.

That is a neat idea. I will put this idea out to the public at the upcoming CoinFest event.

Great idea. My phone came with a "if found call" option that is "stickied" to the top of the phone book...so if I lose my phone and someone finds it, when they navigate to the phone book the first thing they see is IF FOUND CALL then my other phone numbers.

I really like the ICE idea.

The "ICE" idea has been circulating on the internet.

I have received it twice from friends.

Good idea!
