TC3 Valued Member United States 256 Posts	Posted 10/06/2014 10:37 am Hi, I found one of these yesterday and was wondering if it's worth anything. To my knowledge, no 1981's were issued for circulation. This coin has some toning as if its been in a set (Mint set). I looked online and saw that this coin is considered a key date in the series, and some other sites say it's only worth face value. To say the least, I'm a bit confused. The problem with SBA dollars is that supply exceeds demand, even for the key dates. The series simply isn't popular. Personally, I'd be willing to fork over $2-3 if I needed one to complete a set. I also forked over the $ for a 1981 mint set for the convenience of getting the dollars from all 3 mints at once.
