Does anyone know the reason why the souvenir sets 73-81 do not contain dollar coins?

I guess just because they decided not to include them and just stick with the big mint medal. It does seem kind of odd that they didn't put them in. Maybe just trying to keep the price of the sets down.

The sets started in 1972 (probably) when there weren't even any dollar coins in the rwegular mint sets. Then in '73 there were no Ikes made for circulation. By 1974 it may have just been tradition.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.
