how much stricter on grading would you say EAC is compared to TPG? Bob Grellman attributed this coin recently and gave it a F-12 grade. Would others go a bit higher? Turned out to be N-33 which is R5 http://www.ebay.com/itm/1c-One-Cent...p=true&rt=nc

Jerry there is an EAC grading guiding that was published this year. I acquired a copy of the hardback book back in May and learned a lot about grading 1857 and prior copper coins.

Here's the link: http://www.eacs.org/GradingGuide/GradingGuide.html

I have the EAC Grading Guide and highly recommend it!
It is a fantastic book that also covers colonials.

I would give the coin question a F12 on good day from an EAC grading view point because of the condition rims and stars. BTW, I like the wood grain.
