1921 Morgan Dollar, as seen on the most recent installment of everyone's favorite forum game! (Special thanks to jbuck for image editing.) Edited by CopperCastle 10/09/2014 10:54 pm

The reverse is really nice, but the obverse holds this one to a ms61 in my book. If the fingerprint is on that slab then I say its a ms62.

Nope, the print is on the coin. Unfortunately I didn't see it until it was out of the coin shop & in natural lighting. That being said, I hope those PCGS guys wear cotten gloves. If I could trace the print back to a living person, they may find themselves in a precarious situation. (JOKING!)

I based my GTP Series 47 guess on MS62 values ... so that is what I'm staying with. Hopeful you got a great deal on a higher graded coin. For those who are wondering about Guess the Price ... it is a long running game here on the CCF now in it's 47th season ... great fun for all involved and graciously hosted by jbuck who does a tremendous job. GTP Season 47 in progress ... join the fun ... we need your coins (all coins) for season 48. https://goccf.com/t/187514&whichpage=1David

I'll guess MS-63 but might have made it into a 64 holder. There are some scuffing, luster breaks, and marks on the cheek but the fields look mostly free of marks and that might have helped it into a higher grade.

I have a 1921 in an ANACS MS62 holder that looks 65, this being PCGS, I'd go MS62 maybe 63 depending on the luster which I can't tell from the photos.

MS-63 Note the image below (same coin)! Hard to believe, right? It's insane what a difference a little bit of lighting makes. The scuff marks on the cheeks have all but vanished! Where's the fingerprint? I can't stress the importance of only considering internet purchases of coins submitted with multiple angles...preferably 6 or more. How many of you would have offered a different grade having only seen the 2nd image? I looked at this coin through a loupe prior to purchasing & still didn't see the print until outside. How weird is that?

I can see the print faintly in the second, but not really in the first. I can't believe the check is that beat up to get a 63, I guess the reverse being around ms64 helped some. Good example with photos and lighting making things look different.

You would need the CIA to ID those fingerprints
