Hello!
I'm new to coll roll hunting!
I decided that I'm going to go after pennies!
Since I'm getting my first box today, I was wondering what I should be looking for in general. Do you guys known which dates, mintmarks, errors, and varities I should be looking for?

Thanks!

(What's the difference between an error and a varity?)

I keep the following,

Wheats
non Lincoln Cents (IHCs etc.)
any errors
proofs

Some people save 95% copper cent (pre 1982) but I do not because they take up space and I can't sell them for more than face. I do not keep any varieties.

I agree. It'll add interest in the process and most of the valuable finds will be variety and error coins. Check out the addresses above and you will start your education on varieties.

You might want to pick up a folder for Canadian cents. Back when cents circulated in Canada we got quite a few zincolns, I assume it works vice virsa too.
