Since I am not specialised in US coinage and don't know the specifics of grading lower grade US coins I would appreciate comments of those who are.

Also another question: are holed coins only worthy of being space fillers or do they have a value as well?

I do have 5 coins I want an opinion on, so to make it simple and avoid confusion I will be posting them in separate topics.

Here my first:

Thank you two, and after reading the other responses I do now understand what "Fine details" means.

F-Details. It is heavily corroded. Sorry but it is really just an album filler in this condition.

That really doesn't worry me too much, since it is only for my worldcoin type collection - still want to have an idea of the grades in that collection though.

F12 details with the heavy corrosion takes away the value, it still holds a surprising amount of relief for the amount of corrosion that has eaten into the coin. Net grade would probably be G4 or lower for pricing.

Yes 'westcoin' it has actually quite a smooth surface texture with plenty tiny 'pits'.
Note: I paid A$1 or A$2 for it a few years ago - so not a big waste of money.
Thanks for the additional posts guys. Starting to get a feeling for the way US coins are graded. So would this be right:

F12 Details/Pitted Surface?
