Hello fellow coin collectors

I've been collecting for five years or less. I built up a nice collection but I've also made some money along the way by buying coins undervalued and re-selling them on ebay.
One thing I'm looking to get the hang of is getting coins graded myself with NGC or PCGS.

What id like to start doing is perhaps getting rolls from the mint and sending them in by the roll to try and get some MS 70s or PF 70s and selling the ones that grade out lower on ebay.

How much does it cost to send in a Presidential dollar roll in? Are their more advantageous coins to get graded in bulk? Which service is better for this NGC or PCGS? What special plans do they have for bulk submissions? Opinions? Thought?

Since you're looking for MS/PF-70's your starting point should be to open the rolls and pick out anything that might grade that high.
No use sending coins in that would have trouble reaching even -68.
THEN contact the TPG of your choice (NGC or PCGS) and ask them about bulk submissions.

They don't. You won't find any such information on a TPG webpage. Bulk submissions are something they work out on an individual basis with certain high-volume dealers. No guarantee you can get it, and you'd better be prepared to submit thousands of coins.

You have to be a high volume dealer type. Or atleast start somewhere as just an individual and make a good track record with them to do cheaper prices with bulk submissions. I have a friend that knows a top tier TPG and they cut him a deal if he sends in atleast 1500 coins. And he didnt make that rapport overnight. So be prepared to spend a lot of time and money to build a relationship.

Not to mention the odds of getting a 69 or 70 out of a roll are slim to none. I would venture to say 95 percent of any circulation strike coins grading over 67 come from mint sets.

As mentioned, you have to do a volume that is well above what most folks deal in before ANY of the four TPGs will give any breaks. Bulk would be thousands of mint sets at a time.
