I bought this coin online a few days ago, and the pictures looked fine to me at the time. It hasn't arrived yet, but the more I look at the pictures the more I get the feeling that something is wrong. Any of you guys care to help me out? Thanks.

Looks quite okay for a Billon Tetradrachm of Probus, what is it you are worried about?

There's no real red flag to me, something about it just feels a little off. To me it's the reverse, it just looks, odd. I could be totally wrong and hopefully I am, just had to put all fears to rest.

Google 'Emmett 3987' and you will find your coin.

It's fine, no worries :)

EGYPT, Alexandria. Potin tetradrachm. Probus, year 2 (CE 276/7). Reverse is Elpis standing left. As Medieval said, it is Emmett 3987 (2), rarity rating 1 (common).

When you acquire the RIC,SEAR or authentication number go to CNG or ACSEARCH and run the size and weight and match it to your coin and see if it is close. If the average weight of that coin is 4.2 grams and yours weighs 1 gram, that could be an issue.
