Poll Question
Who's getting tired of the obverse portrait of QE-II? Any ideas for new obverse portrait designs? I personally would like to see a new one featuring the QE wearing the crown (similar to the 1990-2003 portrait).

I think we should go back to the Arnold Machin portrait, struck in high relief. The portrait on Canadian coins now have the worst design of all the queen's coinage portraits there are.

Which portrait was that? I never liked the current portrait that's been in use since 2003.

I voted to change the current design, but given how awful it looks now I'm a little afraid a new one would look even worse.

The queen isn't exactly getting any prettier as time goes on, you know.

Time for a veil like the late Victorian British coins?

Gothic, I actually liked that crowned/veil portrait of QV. But at this point, anything would be an improvement from the current portrait IMO.

ugh, she's getting old, I prefer either of the two first portraits....maybe it's time for Prince Charles and his ears to adorn our coins?

I think we should keep the portrait we have for a while yet. We could get stuck with this ugly mug by Ian Rank-Broadley, it appears on British, Australian, and other Commonwealth countries coins.

DBM, Even that one is better than what we have now, IMO.
Don't worry tripoli, Charles' ears will grace us all with their presence on our money soon enough.

I prefer a fully from-the-side portrait on a coin. Ours now is just really silly looking. I wonder how big they would make Charles' ears?

I perfer the one before 2003 featuring the crown. The one that slurexe97 mentioned served for too much time. The portrait is also too young, I guess

I agree Petersun, that's my favourite portrait of her too (1990-2003).
Further to pacificoin's point, QE's portrait on the $20 is even worse than the coinage portrait.
