I picked up a commerative round the other day. It's 2.12 troy ounces, 2 1/16 inches in diamater, I'm horrid with taking pics but I found this one on-line.
Apollo---Soyuz-Silver-Round:-Hallmark-Help

It says:

Apollo - Soyuz
Historic Meeting in Space
July 15,1975

The Apollo Crew
Thomas P. Stafford commander
Vance Brand command module pilot
Donald K. Slaton docking module pilot

The Soyuz Crew
Aleksey Leonov commander
Valeriy Kubasov flight engineer

There are hallmarks and some words on the edge,

24KT. EGP / .999 FS [then 4 circles with the top missing(the hallmarks?)]

The first is a C second is an HM with a shared verticle between them.

The last two are 76 and F, my guess is that means 1976 and F for June (sixth letter, sixth month)

Does anyone recognize what they might mean? Sorry no pics of them, they are pretty small.

Also I'm guessing the 24kt. egp is electric gold plate... but it's only got a small amount of what looks more like patina/tone than any sort of gold plating. Mine doesn't look like it was dipped in anything corrosive to strip the gold, any explanation for why there is no gold plate left, it doesn't seem to have been a pocket piece or overly handeled either.

Edit: Format

I own a bunch of commy's that have these symbols on the edging, but they're all packed away. I don't know where you'd find the specific reference material containing the legend identifying the numbers and symbols on the edge of your commy. But I'll try to work from memory re: what I deduced front studying mine in the past.

EGP = electro-gold plated, just as you guessed. Perhaps the plating wasn't originally on the whole coin but just a portion of it? Around the edging? IIRC, I've seen commemoratives where the plating had chipped away on some of my 1970's commy's, especially if the treatment was poorly done.

The .999 FS = .999 fine silver. "HM" is hallmark. Not precisely sure about the "C", unless it simply stands for Coin or Commemorative. 1976 is definitely the year it was issued. It's a good guess but I wouldn't bet on the "F" representing the month. I believe it stands for Frankfort, as in the mint where a lot of these commemorative sets originated from. Hope that helps.

Great info, thanks for all that.

Like I said it has an interesting hue to it so maybe poor quality plating.

I know I have some coins from Frankfurt so now maybe I have another

I believe you'll find that the "F" is actually an "FM" monogram, with the crossbar of the F actually a flattened M. This is the mintmark for the Franklin Mint, prolific medal-maker of bygone decades. This space-collector's website lists your medal as a Franklin Mint product. The "C" is a copyright symbol; the "HM" monogram might be the designer. This Franklin Mint fan website gives some hints as to decoding Franklin Mint hallmarks on medals.

That's a neat medal! .999 at that, not to shabby. I'd be keen to know the weight on this piece.

Sorry I thought I mentioned it is 2.12 troy ounces

65.9g with a 2 inch diameter, she's a whopper

Without C.O.A. I can't be certain about the F meaning Franklin Mint, it doesn't look like it has an M, but I'm getting old and going blind, even with a magnifier and loupe I'm still at a loss

Thanks all for the info
