Hi all, So, I have this silver dollar and I don't know if it's worrh anything or, if it is fake. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance. It weighs 15 grams. Is it a fake? Thanks in advance for any info.

to the forum! Unfortunately, your coin is definitely 100% fake. It's nearly half the weight of what an authentic piece should weigh. It may be worth a few dollars if there's actually some silver in it though, although given how drastically underweight it is, this seems unlikely

Welcome to Coin Community, eligato. Unfortunately, at 15g there's no possibility that this coin is real - it's too heavy for a Half Dollar and a Dollar should weigh 27g at ~40mm diameter.
I don't know if these early 1800's Dollars are the most heavily-counterfeited coins on the market, but we certainly see more of them than any other counterfeit.

Aw,that's a shame. Thanks for the info though guys. I inherited a coin collection from my Father in law. This is one of the silver coins in the bag that was given to me. Included in he bag are lots of Spanish/Mexican, Roman, British and Danish. Which, I have no idea what to do with. Oh well, onwards!

It's a fake. Where did you get it, if you don't mind me asking?
