Can anyone tell me if the 2006 Nevada State Quarter has a nickel edge? The rest of the State Quarters have the traditional copper/nickel look but the one I have is either silver or nickel edge. No copper found around the edge. It is stamped with a "P" mint mark.

It might be a plated quarter that has been in circulation long enough to lose the plating.
Rest in Peace

Perhaps your quarter was pulled out from a platinum set.

With that appearance difference between Platinum and Silver being slight, How can someone who is not use to seeing Platinum being able to the tell the difference.

I didn't even know that that there were Platinum State coins out there in any form. Were they made in any other date?

They were made in all dates, gold, silver, and platinum, with platings so thin even the gold an platinum coins are worth over face value. (These are all plated after they left the mint making them post strike damaged. They have no collector value.)

Right, this is just a novelty. You can get a set for less than $10.
