Besides 2004 D, what others are there to watch close for?

And are there any key dates in that date range?

I'm not too sure but I think that Wisconsin and Minnesota had errors on them. I would look out for those.

Besides the 2004-D I'd just look for the normal types of errors you find with (clad) coins: broadstrikes, die cracks/cuds, clad layer errors, missing/extra features, off-centers, die rotations, etc.

I'd keep any really sharp, highly uncirculated ones for building my set.

Another thought.

Certain quarters have proven to be very popular in appearance.

Good examples of such Statehood Quarters as Connecticut, Rhode Island, Nevada, and Colorado might be worth saving.
