I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE DIAMETER AND THE THICKNESS OF MINE ( I mean just the coin ;-) )

Original dimensions >> and my coin
Weight (grams): 15.98 >> mine 15.98
28.4mm diameter >> mine 29.23
2mm thickness >> mine 1.82

The reverse and observe are perfectly aligned, could the dimensions discrepancy be the results of an older/worn die and/ or heavier strike flattening the coin augmenting the diameter and reducing the thickness ?

I have attached a few images, thanks.

The lettering and denticles are way off. The design is also pretty off-putting. Compare your coin to pictures of sovereigns on the internet. I would say that this is a fake.

I don't claim expertize, but I have been studying sovs for a decade, and have acquired quite a few from all reigns, and have handled and examined them.

Your pics are a credit to you and your camera.

The issue that stands out to my eye is the Queen's veil - particularly at the level of her ear, and below.

I notice a lot of small dings on both sides, and rim damage on the verso.
You might call that "bag marks" &/or circulation, or you might see it as evidence of being fake.
I don't know enough to express a confident opinion.

Zxcccxz makes good points also.

I'd be hoping that CCF-member Wwwww has a look at this.

Quote from
Coincraft's Standard Catalogue of English and U.K. Coins 1066 to Date P.432, on Two Pound coins:

"A large number of forgeries exist, especially of the 1887 date. Many of these are of poor quality, and 'wear' differently from genuine coins, especially around the head and breast of St George. However, many of the fakes are difficult to detect. Because of the prevalence of these 'restrikes', as some dealers like to call them, it is probably advisable to look for coins in about very fine condition with a genuinely old appearance.
"

Yours is most probably made from reasonably good quality gold. Nevertheless, beware of the possibility of a tungsten core, of the same density as gold. You will need neutron activation analysis to investigate the core, as XRF only examines the atoms in the surface layer.
