Whee! I got my commemorative 50 cent coin in the mail today. The design isn't as impressive as some of the ones I've seen in the past, but it's pleasing none the less.

I admit when I purchased this coin, because I mainly prefer coins that have circulated, I was being a bit greedy. The commemorative 50 centers seem to appreciate more than most other mint coins, so I grabbed this one too. :) The official release date isn't until Monday, though.

Yeah, the Gold version, at close to $1500 has a diamond chip in it.

I have really enjoyed collecting the Australian 50 Cent Pieces. I am within striking distance of having my collection up-to-date.

I wish this size coin would circulate in the United States.
