Hi guys,
I have found a selection of about 50 pennies and halfpennies dating from 1940 to 1964. Also included, are brand new, 100 uncirculated number-sequential $1 notes, and 100 $2 notes; also assorted circulated $1, $2, and $5 notes. I am curious as to the best way to nail down an accurate value on these items. (Only a collector by accident!)

There are a number of Coin shops in Melbourne where you can get a copy of The Pocket guide to Australian Coins and Banknotes by Greg McDonald.
also if you can locate a copy of the magazine called The Australian Coin & Banknote Magazine (CAB) it contains a list of most of the coin clubs in Australia and the times and places of their meetings. Any of their members would be glad to help you out.

Many of our collectors became so 'by accident"
