I pulled this 2-digit repeater out of a brick of new money myself so it should be uncirculated. But I noticed that there's a "pinch" on the top of the note where the brick was bundled with a strip of paper (saying denomination and amount). Would this still grade uncirculated or does it affect the grade? It's still got some nice paper waves.
That "pinch" is called a cutting cup. It occurs at the point where the security strip is place. When the banknote sheet is cut sometimes the metalic strip bends.
Yes it affects the grade. Without the cutting cup the note would grade Gem UNC or Choice UNC. With the cup it grades at best a UNC. When going through bundles I don't keep these ones because there are usually better notes.
