Hello. I have had 1000 rubles in 1 rubles bank wrapped for a long time. I have gifted single ones and even whole 100 rubles packs.
I would like to know how much would one cost. All bills are Crisp Uncirculated.
Serrials for the speccific one: 6993501-6993601
Can somebody estimate the price?
I will be keeping them for about (me) 5-8 more decades - (generations) ∞ decades

Hi
There are a number of example of them to be found on the internet, and ebay
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/RUSSIA-1...054897.l5673

The link possibly only works if you copy and paste it into a new address bar.

If that address does not work, they are being offered for $2 each UNC Buy it now.

So not a lot of money but as you have a large number of them, they could add up if you were patient and sold them individually.

@agaudau, you didn't understand what I meant. I am reffering to the package and bundles.
With the serrial numbers and unique soviet bank numbers.
The "bundles" or "stacks" have never showed up on any website in the last 10 years and before

I doubt that the sum is worth more than its parts. If they are selling retail for $2 then there are large quantities available. Being in a consecutive numbered pack likely adds no value.

There are still quantities of these available to dealers, so no markups right now. Your plan to keep them for decades is sound, however, not so many. The notes that were 50 cents in 1961 are today worth $5 to $20, depending on what they are. The Ruble note was worth only pennies in 1961, and perhaps a dollar, now. So appreciation has been good, but may be not going much higher. These were cheap in 1961, and still cheap today. Expecting common notes to become a rarity is not wise.

For a stash, however, 1000 notes may be a bit large. When it's time to sell, large quantities have to be jobbed out, and thus your returns will be lower. Might want to reduce that stash down to three or five hundred during the next decade, then keep the remainder, or distribute a bundle apiece to several heirs. Put single notes on ebay and sell them yourself, putting the returns into a bank account, you can pass that along to your heirs in 50 years.

Do write out instructions to heirs as to what they are and what you expect to see happen with the notes. Put that with the notes.

I, too, have a stash of stuff I'm preserving for long-term appreciation, meaning decades. It's a mix of inexpensive material and better stuff, in quantities not to exceed 10 of anything, and generally less than 5 examples.
