During the last month I can observe more and more cois from RCM with milk spots - even when they are new. It seems RCM is loosing their quality standards that they build up during last years. This is an extremly negative development for collectors and for dealers as well as their coins in stock will be loose value within short time because of the milk spots. This thread should collect coins where you have observed milk spots - please post only collector coins from RCM. Here are mine: 20 $ Maple Canopy Autumn Allure 2014 5 $ Bald Eagle Proof 2014 25 $ Star Charts 500 $ 5 Kilo Silver National Aboriginal Veterans Monument 10 $ O Canada Series Northern Lights

If I have milk spots I will immediate return the coin. I don't make pictures of them - but can do in the future.

This is scary, I've got several 2014 coins, including 3 of the eagles. I will need to look closely at all of them now. Sometimes I don't get around to inspecting my new coins for a while. I truly appreciate you raising this concern as it will affect everyone with RCM coins. If this is happening it's truly a shame!! May be it's too many coins too fast and standards are slipping. I've read some people are returning this yrs coins for flaws, the milk spots on Nclt is a new issue to watch for.

@MUDA:
The strange thing I noticed:
3 out of 5 coins that you mentioned - colourized. Did you find the spots on the colored surface or obverse? I am curious. The 4-th one I assuming is the "Premium version of the Bullion Eagle" - this is frustrating and in-expectable...
And filially, the "top of the tops" 5 kg silver coin? This one have to be piece of art ($10.000 for a coin) and have a defect? Sounds not good at all.

I would suggest to call the RCM and have the products replaced especially the 5kg coins. Yes larger surfaces are easier to spot blemishes but in my opinion is unacceptable.

I noticed the lunar horse had some kind of fogginess to it and also the lunar goat I received had some white specs on them. ( that wouldn't come off ) I believe the lack quality control as of late was mentioned earlier this year. I can only assume their taking on more projects then they can handle. It's a shame because that's probably the most important requirement in my eyes, that a proof finish coin be flawless to the naked eye. I'm not talking about the coin grading a perfect 70, I just think if I'm paying the premium I should get a coin that appeals to my eyes. Good thing their exchange program is easy.

I was really shocked when I got the 5 kilo coin yesterday - 6 milk spots on such a luxury coin is a NO-GO. Coin was issued only 2 or 3 weeks ago! I suppose their are not longer able to handle that many products without without having issues. It goes to the disadvantage of the quality and in the end of the customer who is paying a lot of money for it.

This truly troubling and I wish you had pictures. Does anyone have pictures of NCLT RCM coins with milks spots? I have never seen them on any of my coins (and I have a few). Given the suspected origin of milk spots on bullion, I'm not even sure how they could occur on NCLT.

It won't be milk spots that kills the market, it is the issue of the day problem that has destroyed the market in this RCM third world garbage.

But for sure the milk spots turn off not a few collectors. The Bullion RCM coins have attractive design and the fairly priced. And the series would look great, unless the "milk spots" that suddenly might appear on any of the coins.

The following one theoretically Bullion and from the 2012. More correctly will be semi- numis, the market value near $100, mintage 10.000 and actually to this coin attached the profit of $1000+ for RCM, if the buyer completes subscription. 2012 F15 SML: 4 months ago I didn't see it (the milk spot) and noticed just today, when completed my own F15 set, and removed remaining coins to the air tite capsules... Take a look on the edge of the leaf, near "9999":

Well lets hope thus isn't a new trend because it will kill collecting NCLTs completely for me, I would then just stick with bullion where some milk spot can be expected.
