I hadn't checked my one email in a while and was going through the Coin World updates seeing what all recent articles caught my eye.

One was on the American Numismatic Society's project titled Art of Devastation which shows medals and related items issued after WWI.

I saw the post about WWI Peace Medals posted a few days ago and thought I'd share this resource in case others hadn't seen or heard about it.

it's great to admire the art, but I'd like to know more about the context and purpose of the medals.
I'm surprized that there are so many German medals dated 1918 - I didn't think that they had much to celebrate just then.
