I got this interesting item from a fellow coin club member who goes to the Philippines about every three months for a month. This is what he brought back from his last trip down there. It is a fob of some sort and appears to be hung from a button hole. The bottom coin has a clip on the back so what exactly it was used for is anyone's guess.

The initials near the top are CL or LC, the coins are an 1898-S Barber quarter, a 1900-S Barber quarter and a 1907-S Philippine 50 centavos. It makes perfect sense that S mint Barber quarters were used since most of the U.S. coins for the military in the far east would have come from the San Francisco Mint.

It was probably hand made by or for a serviceman who was serving in the Philippines.

The only part not silver is the spring in the clip.
