I don't see a lot of notching going on at the moment. Any thoughts? Machine Doubling? DDR? I paired it with a 1997 D Dime for some comparison. Some places to take note are E Pluribus Unum, foliage thickness and size of Acorn/Berries, and torch bands.

Your concerns can easily be attributed to striking pressure and/or die wear.

There are a couple of things that can make the devices look wider than normal On "STATES" you see with devices looking wider. It could be coin wrapper damage or a slight amount of great in the die. The devices are tapered to allow release after the strike. When a small amound of great is in the deeper part of the die, the devices look wider, but the narrow top of the device was blocked because of that grease. Here is an illustration:

This is common and we see this a lot on the cent reverses on the USA area. Either way it is a common event and not very valuable. Sorry
