I have just recently become aware of the fact that some 1, 2, and/or 5 cent German coins dated 2002 have a smaller picture on the reverse (common) side.
I am wondering if anyone knows which coins and mints were affected. I have seen several different counts (only 1 & 5 cent, no 1 cent from the Stuttgart mint, etc.)
Is there a up to date source out there?

Don't know much about such varieties; the Schön catalog merely says they occurred with the 1, 2 and 5 cent coins dated 2002. The Jaeger (mine is the 2011 edition) has that note for the 1 and 2 ct pieces only. As you will know, there aren't that many dedicated error collectors here in Germany. Peter Neugebauer published a book about euro errors in 2009 ("Varianten und Fehlprägungen der Euro-Münzen"); maybe that is still available?

Thank you, Christian - I have been away for awhile, but I looked into it and Neugebauer's book is available as a free PDF, and has a nice KMB table.
