Must it say the small town I live in? Can I change it to a near-by location?

Pretty certain you can just have your state if you'd like - I often just list my province.

I've seen listings for "US" as location.

I just use the general area of the country. For someone in Arizona, Texas they could use "The Southwest". For Oklahoma, Kansas or Missouri they could use the "the Midwest". It's really up to you what you want to put in. I would not put in the exact City or township. Sometimes a little bit too much info is not a good thing.

It seems auto-generated. I can't locate where/how to adjust it. I'm wondering if anyone can walk me through?

I think the listing options vary a little depending on the OS and Browser that you are using.

I'm using Windows 7 w/Google Chrome. When you edit your listing, scroll down to "item location," and you might see a choice to change the location. Click on it and delete the zip code and leave it blank, and on the 'city/state' line, just put "United States."

The easy way to do this: change the zip code!
